And was the $100k/yr manager also in the budget for this thing? That would be the budget the I don't believe anybody has ever seen (at least in the public)? And what happened to the assistant businees administrator who was "hopefully" going to manage the construction?

What I was specifically talking about was, invariably, someone is going to say "I thought they told us taxes wouldn't go up!!!" about the building referendum. As for the numbers, that's all above my head, so even though I know you were directing that at me per se, I'm not avoiding the question.

Concealed carry legislation goes before Illinois House on Tuesday

1 year, 8 months ago by Bob Gough

Lawmakers had filed 26 amendments - many to bar carrying weapons in places such as casinos or schools - by mid-afternoon Monday

From the Associated Press:

More than two dozen amendments involving the issue of carrying concealed weapons in Illinois could be debated on the House floor Tuesday.

House Speaker Michael Madigan has scheduled a hearing to allow legislators to submit amendments covering different topics involving the issue.

Lawmakers had filed 26 amendments - many to bar carrying weapons in places such as casinos or schools - by mid-afternoon Monday.

A federal court dismissed the Illinois ban in December and ordered a law be approved by early June.

Political scientist Kent Redfield of the University of Illinois at Springfield says the hearing allows lawmakers to support or oppose certain gun provisions even if they don't agree with the final legislation.

The bill is HB1155.
