Two more incumbents file for Adams County Board

All 21 Adams County Board seats are up next year; Filing runs through December 5
Two incumbents have filed for re-election to the Adams County Board as did one former Board member.
Richie Reis (D-District 1) and Mark Peter (R-District 5) turned in their petitions to the Adams County Clerk's office.
Former Board member Kent Snider, a Republican, turned in his petitions to run for District 4. Snider resigned from the County Board in July 2010 when he moved out of his previous distric . Kevin Rankin was appointed to fill his seat.

Three more candidates for offices in Adams County have turned in their petitions.
Democrat Lori Geschwandner turned in her petitions to run for Adams County Circuit Clerk. Geschwandner, who is currenty the county's deputy circuit clerk, is expected to opposed former State Senator Laura Kent Donahue, who announced her intention to run for the office in August, next November. No other candidates have announced their intentions to run, so no primary races are expected there.
Randy Reis (D-2nd District) turned in his petitions to run for re-election to the Adams County Board, as did Connie Sparks (D-1st District)

With all 21 Adams County Board seats up for re-election next year, several candidates filed for election today, the first day they were allowed to turn in petitions.
Four sitting County Board members filed this morning, although one of them had to file in a new district.
Seldon Totsch of Liberty (R-6th District), Les Post of Golden( R-6th District) and Theresa Bockhold of Payson (R-7th District) filed petitions to run for re-election in their respective districts, but Todd Duesterhaus of Quincy ( D-3rd District) filed to run in the 1st District as district boundaries are changing next year because of redistricting.
Wayne Gallaher has also filed petitions to run as a Republican in District 7.
Republican Lyle Nichols filed petitions to run in District 4. Nichols was on the County Board from August 2009 until November 2010, as he was appointed to serve and unexpired term following the resignation of Melvin “Bud” Niekamp. Nichols lost in the 2010 Republican primary to Duane Venvertloh (R-District 7).
Adams County Coroner Jim Keller filed his petitions to run for the position he now holds. Keller, a Republican, was appointed in March to replace Gary Hamilton, who retired.
County Clerk Georgia Volm said candidates have until 5 p.m. Dec. 5 to turn in petitions. The primary is March 20.
