I thought the $1000 was a fee to allow them to do business in the city. All they have to do is raise the cost that they charge the customer - that's the way it works in other private businesses work - your costs raise you pass it on to the consumer. And, if the customer of the private hauler isn't happy they can check with the other private haulers or pay the 75 cents sticker for kitchen…

How in God's name can Schock say the omnibus bill's passage was a good thing? It funded Obamacare which Schock says he opposes, it funded Obama's unlawful executive amnesty which Schock also said he opposes, none of it makes sense. Schock said the CR's don't allow changes in funding, how is that a bad thing? If these clowns would just freeze government spending for 3 to 5 years…

I still do not understand the $1000. If it is due to wear and tear on the streets, then what about any other businesses that have large trucks driving our streets. Illinois union coalition seeks pension injunction

7 months, 1 week ago from Associated Press

A coalition of unions is asking a Sangamon County judge to prevent a statewide pension overhaul from taking effect until its constitutionality is decided.

We Are One Illinois filed a motion Monday in Springfield seeking a preliminary injunction against the new law. It's supposed to take effect this summer.

The law signed by Gov. Pat Quinn last year essentially cuts benefits for employees and retirees. Illinois has roughly $100 billion in unfunded pension liability.

A We Are One Illinois spokesman says workers will have to make "irrevocable" and "life-altering retirement decisions" based on a law that might not be constitutional. The coalition covers several unions including the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 31.

Members of the State Universities Annuitants' Association have filed a similar motion.
