A public figure that did a good job mixing things up. I did not agree with him many times, but glad he was there to balance the board(he really does love the sound of his own voice). It is important to know when to exit the stage, I think he is doing that at the right time.

Maybe you are the guys that went south! Must like the buddy system that has been goin on for years! Take off your blinders and look at some of these people and there back rounds (education, work experience). I can't wrap my head around a janitor giving advice on construction aspect of a building! This Peters guy should not of said that! I looked up his past wage and experience! Wow! Went from…

I agree this movie is probably crap. What nitwit thought this was good subject matter. North Korea may not be a great nation, but joking about assassinating the leader of any country seems in poor taste. I think the sony boys were just stupid and now the war mongers are rattling their sabres. The first amendment protects stupidity, it just can't prevent it.

this $1000 for wear and tear on the streets "tears" me up. years ago, Good Sam wanted to put about 50 cluster homes south of Cherry Lane about were 18th St would be if it went thru. This was going to require truck load after truck load of fill to be hauled in on the old beat up Cherry Lane. I addressed the planning commission with the question of who was going to fix the street. They all looked at…

Downtown Quincy hotel to become Quality Inn & Suites

Downtown Quincy hotel to become Quality Inn & Suites

Former Holidome and City Center facility should be fully renovated this summer

The former Holiday Inn Holidome will become a Quality Inn & Suites, according to the company that purchased the property last year.

Tracy Holdings, LLC, doing business as Great River Hospitality, has announced that it signed a franchise agreement with Choice Hotels, which has Quality Inn and Suites as part of its hospitality portfolio.

Tracy Holdings purchased the 145 room property from Abbott Development in late October when it had no franchise agreement and was called The City Center Hotel. It was originally built as a Holiday Inn in 1984 and owned and operated by the Albanese family out of Springfield, IL. Marine Bank, out of Springfield, took over the property and sold it to Abbott Development in 2008.

“The property has a lot of potential and is well built”, said Stan Seibert, General Manager of Tracy Holdings. “We shut down the property on November 15th and have been working hard to clean all areas, update equipment and systems and finish renovations on several rooms. We plan a soft opening with 60 newly renovated rooms in January. and will finish the rest of the rooms and start flying the Quality Inn & Suites flag by summer.

Quality Inn & Suites is a mid-market hotel chain that will feature family friendly rooms, extended stay suites and a designated floor for business travelers.  The property will offer “Choice Privileges”; a free premire rewards program that can be redeemed for free nights, airline miles, gift certificates and more.  Property amenities will include a complimentarty hot breakfast bar, fitness center, indoor swimming pool, business center, meeting and banquet facilities and complimentary WiFi.

“It is an excellent location and we just need to finish the work that was stalled several years ago”, said Joe Tracy, Owner of Tracy Holdings. “It will take most of 2014 to finish all the rooms and the banquet space but I am excited about the plan”.
