15 months after fire, Northside Quincy eatery is back in business
“It’s been downright crazy in a way. It was almost like a family reunion.”
That’s what Jenny Wiemelt, Owner of Sprouts Restaurant, said about Tuesday’s opening day of Sprouts.
Sprouts opened Tuesday, September 10th after a June 13, 2012 fire destroyed the former Sprouts building.
“We didn’t really advertise it just because there were so many last minute things to take care. We had our help here ready to go Tuesday. We had been cooking all weekend, getting the roasts and turkeys ready, everything that we’ve always done homemade that we’ve always been known for.”
Wiemelt said most of the people who have come through the doors Tuesday have been family, friends, and those who have been contacting her.
“It feels so good to be open. It feels almost like a release off of my chest,” said Wiemelt. “We’ve been anticipating this for so long and we’ve had so many hiccups in the middle of everything. I just feel like I’m home again.”
Sprouts is open Monday through Thursday, 6:30am – 10pm, Friday and Saturday, 6:30a-11pm, and Sunday, 8:00am – 10pm.
