The 2013 Alzheimer’s Association Legislative Priorities Event is set for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at the Quincy Senior Center, 639 York St., Quincy. Every year, the Chapter brings together area leaders to provide updates on legislation, research and community projects related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
Planned topics and speakers include
-2013 federal and state legislative priorities
-Update on Project Lifesaver and safety services by Detective Tom Liesen of the Quincy Police Department
-Legislative update by Judy Buchanan of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Illinois Chapter Network
-Alzheimer’s research updates by Drs. Ken Fukuchi and Julia Biernot of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria
-Updates from area legislators
