Dictionaries will be handed out this week

Every third grader in Adams County will be getting a gift this week

For the past 15 years, the Quincy Noon Kiwanis Club has been partaking in a pretty popular service project.

Each year, hundreds of dictionaries are given to every third grade student in the County.

The project this year kicks off today.

Since its inception, the event has grown to the county school districts in Camp Point, Liberty, Mendon and Payson. In addition, the idea has carried to the Palmyra Club and has reached into Hannibal and Macon.

This year the service project will reach just under 800 children.

The Kiwanis will be delivering to the schools throughout this week.
