Missing Quincy man found dead in park

David Leonard was last seen early Wed morning

The Quincy Police Department is no longer conducting an active missing persons investigation into the whereabouts of David W. Leonard.

Mr. Leonard's body was found in a creek bed in the area of Bob Bangert Park and Parker Heights Park.

Leonard's body was found in a heavily wooded area at around 6:10 p.m. Thursday night.

Members of the search and rescue team had been searching for Leonard since early Thursday morning.

No cause of death has been established at this time.

The investigation is on-going.

 

Previous story:
The Quincy Police Department and members of the Adams County Emergency Management team are currently searching for a missing/endangered person in Gardner Park. 

The individual is David William Leonard, age 53, WM 5-7 160, blond shoulder length hair, graying beard and blue eyes. It’s not known what clothing he was wearing. Leonard lives in the 1300 block of N. 6th. 

Leonard has been missing since approximately 0430 hours on 08-27-14.
