Victim survives; allegedly shot by someone in a black car
A Quincy man was arrested in connection with a May 31 shooting that sent another man to the hospital for treatment.
Isiah D. Thomas, 21, was arrested Thursday following an investigation by the Quincy Police Department.
Thomas is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and an unrelated Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.
An unnamed 34-year-old man was shot near the intersection of 15th and Van Buren on Saturday night. His injuries were not life-threatening, and he was taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment.
During the investigation police learned that the victim was in some type of confrontation with people in a black Chrysler sedan. Someone inside the car shot the 34-year-old man.
Thomas was taken to the Adams County Jail pending a court appearance.
At 11:22 p.m. Saturday, Quincy Police, Quincy Fire and Adams County EMS responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of 15th and Van Buren in Quincy
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. The injuries were determined to be non-life threatening and he was taken to Blessing Hospital.
The victim is a 34 year old white male.
Following interviews and an investigation, officers learned the victim had a confrontation with suspects in a black Chrysler car and one of the people in the car allegedly shot the man from the car in the intersection of 15th and Van Buren.
The victim lives in that neighborhood.
