Employees told not to come to work; Sign on the door
Quincy TGI Friday's is closing after 8 years in business.
The parent company, Fifth Day Quincy LLC, made the announcement today. The closing is effective today.
A news release from the company said the decision was made "after much deliberation and is due to economic conditions."
Some employees were called and told of the decision and others found out when they arrived and found the news release taped to the front door.
The company said they would be contacting their employees to discuss arrangements for their final paychecks.
This is the second restaurant closing in or around the Quincy Mall in less than a year. Kreiger's in the Quincy Mall closed in September 2013 and left unpaid rent with the Mall and stiffed employees on final paychecks.
TGI Friday's was open in Quincy for nearly 8 years.
