Quincy is not broke, the state is a mess, the city is not. There is no revenue shortfall, only cuts in service. Alderman Brink said it perfectly, there was nothing to fix, there is no shortfall. The council blundered this one worse than most, and that's saying a lot.

Its true about the trucks, but hopefully a lesson was learned in all of this. If you are a municipality with a sugar daddy and that sugar daddy is the State of Illinois, you better prepare for the unknown when you have the opportunity (like getting out of the trash business). They have been withholding or making late payments from schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and private business for years now,…

Two people are in custody

Quincy Police Department officers took one man and one woman into custody from 814 Lind Street Tuesday afternoon.

The incident took place about 3:30 p.m. at an apartment complex, according to Sgt. Duane Long with the Quincy Police Department.

The man was stabbed and taken to Blessing Hospital where he went into surgery.

Officers talked to Christopher Chapman, 19, who was inside the residence. Chapman told Police the suspect had fled.

Video evidence later revealed the suspect, Lacinda White, 39, was hiding in an upstairs bedroom. White was taken to the Adams County Jail and faces charges of Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Chapman was also arrested and lodged in the Adams County Jail and he faces Obstruction of Justice charges.
