That's interesting, because I've worked for 3 different Fortune 500 companies, and every time I've interviewed FIRST, and then, if they wanted to hire me, that's when they did the background checks. So, major, successful businesses in their actual hiring practices versus guy on the internet saying it should be done differently.. Which to believe, which to believe.....

Interview time is much more costly than a criminal background check. Successful people know that.

I am much more cynical than I am naive. There is such a thing as "contempt" which is what should be used here. Disturbances by cell phone users happens all across the planet - no reason why court rooms should be exempt.

Travis J Neisen was trapped in his SUV

A Quincy man was arrested Saturday for texting while driving and tampering with evidence after crashing his vehicle.

Travis J. Neisen, 35, of 1218 E. 1350th St. was driving his SUV southbound in the 600 block of 18th St when he struck a parked vehicle. Neisen's vehicle then rolled on its side, causing Neisen to be trapped in his SUV.

Quincy Fire Department personnel were able to free Neisen with no injuries.

Neisen was ticketed at the scene for improper lane usage and texting while driving. 

About 2 hours into the investigation, Neisen was also arrested for obstructing justice (tampering with evidence). 

Neisen was lodged in the Adams County Jail.
