Family escaped without injuries

A two car garage caught fire Sunday night on Quincy's northside.

The Quincy fire department responded to a two alarm garage fire at 1417 North 17th street.

When crews arrived just before 9:00 p.m., flames were spreading from the two car garage to the second story of the home.

The family was home at the time but got out safely.

The fire was put out within a hour.

The cause is unknown at this time.

The fire marshall will investigate.
