Or, ya know, you could read the article instead of reacting to the headline. Criminal background checks are NOT being banned, they're available after the interview rather than before. Which is exactly what employers have done with me in the past, because they don't want to spend the money on the background check if they don't think they want to hire you anyway.
Great ...... for the "privilege" of being a business owner, I no longer have the right to make my own decision about giving a criminal a second chance. Second chances are required BY LAW. The bar is set just high enough to trip over in this state.
Of course not. If we still encouraged personal responsibility and people still knew shame and pride, the number would be much lower. It also doesn't help that the schools push people to sign up for the free and reduced lunch programs because the higher the percentage in those programs, the more money they receive from the state for telecommunications services.
