Adams County Coroner Jim Keller has confirmed that one of the riders involved in Saturday night's van/motorcyle crash has died.
Brandon Smith of Quincy passed away Tuesday as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
Dustin Humprhey remains hospitalized.
Two motorcyclists are in the hospital after colliding with a van on Saturday night.
The Adams County 911 Center received a report of a traffic crash at 18th and Harrison at 10:08 pm. Quincy Police, The Quincy Fire Department, and Adams County EMS responded to the call. When the initial officer arrived on scene it was discovered that the crash involved 2 motorcycles and a van.
An investigation into the crash revealed that a 1995 Ford van, driven by John Inghram of Quincy, was stopped on 18th street at Harrison, preparing to make a left turn onto Harrison. A 2005 Honda motorcycle, driven by Brandon Smith, and a 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by Dustin Humphrey, both of Quincy, were west on Harrison from 20th Street. The van turned left into the path of the two motorcycles. Both motorcycles collided with the driver's side of the van.
Both motorcycle riders sustained serious injuries and were transported to Blessing Hospital.
Humphrey's condition is listed as serious. Smith's condition is critical.
The driver of the van refused medial treatment at the scene and was ticketed for failure to yield left turn.
The Illinois State Police assisted with the investigation.
