Statistics from the August traffic and collision report
The Quincy Police department has released its traffic statistics for August.
The intersection of 36th and Broadway has once again claimed the title of most accident prone in Quincy.
Statistics for the month of August show 5 vehicle crashes at that intersection.
Fortunately, none of those crashes involved injuries.
However, of the 92 accidents handled by the QPD in August, 21 did involve injuries
There was one fatality.
30 year old Matthew Fulmer died when his truck crashed into the Crossing thrift store on August 21st.
City-wide, Thursday proved to be the most accident prone day.
92 percent of car crashes happened on dry pavement and 86 percent were in the daylight hours.
Quincy police ticketed 45 drivers for speeding and 33 for seat belt violations.
