Turhan Bowen accepted a guilty plea
The man accused of stabbing an elderly woman in her home has pleaded guilty to home invasion and has received a 25 year sentence.
Judge William Mays sentenced Turhan Bowen to 25 years following a plea agreement with the Adams County State’s Attorney’s office.
Bowen was set for a preliminary hearing today.
On August 4 the Adams County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call indicating a female had been robbed and stabbed in her home at the Town and Country Mobile Home Park. She had stab wounds to her neck and had been bound with duct tape.
Bowen was also a resident of the mobile home park.
Bowen had an attempted murder and other charges dropped as part of the plea deal. Adams County First Assistant Gary Farha said Bowen will have to service 85 percent of the sentence as part of the deal, putting Bowen in his 70’s.
Farha said the victim was aware of and satisfied with the plea.
