Two men were busted after a traffic stop
A minor traffic violation on IL 57 near RJ Peters Drive lead to a traffic stop, and the arrest of a Missouri man for controlled substance trafficking. Thirty-six year old Terron L. Carmill of St. Louis was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by the Quincy Police Department around 10:30 a.m., Thursday morning.
An investigation during the stop resulted in the Adams County Sheriffs Office K-9 being called to the scene. Adams County K-9, "Bricks" alerted officers of the presence of narcotics. The driver of the vehicle Patrick Lewis, age 53 of Quincy was arrested on the offense of driving while revoked and failure to signal when required. Lewis was transported to the Adams County Jail, and was released after posting bond.
Cartmill was taken into custody, and transported to the Adams County Sheriffs Office were he was found to have cocaine and heroin concealed inside his body. Cartmill who is on parole in the state of Missouri was lodged in the Adams County Jail for controlled substance trafficking, unlawful possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, and unlawful possession of heroin.
City and County Officers were assisted in the Investigation by the West Central Illinois Task Force.
