There's no financial support from the school? Why is that? ( My first thought was that maybe its considered a club sport instead of a sanctioned varsity sport?) Anyway... If you know of any way that they're accepting donations towards the cost of their trip, could you please post it here? Thanks.

Welch, like most politicians, has it all backwards. A little bit of "micromanaging" would do a lot of good, both to prevent outright fraud and to highlight other areas where money could be saved pretty effortlessly.
