Largest class in nearly a decade
Quincy University welcomes its largest freshman class in nearly a decade this fall. 281 freshman students will land on campus Friday for move-in day, the kick off to Orientation Weekend.
Enrollment continues to rise steadily over the past several years and 2013 marks the highest incoming freshman class since 1996. QU also welcomes over 90 new transfer students to campus.
“We are excited to welcome 281 incoming first year students and their families to the Quincy University community,” Syndi Peck, vice president of enrollment management, said. “Our recent trends of increasing enrollment are reflective of a campus that takes pride in Franciscan values and higher education, specifically within the liberal arts.”
Quincy University president Dr. Robert Gervasi attributes the continued trend of increasing enrollment to collective efforts of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and board members.
Welcome Weekend kicks off August 16 with freshmen check-in and move-in from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Activities are scheduled throughout the weekend for new students.
