Operating the food pantry is definitely not the right thing to be doing in this residential neighborhood. Expanding it is even more ridiculous. Residents of the neighborhood deserve whatever privacy they can garner. This is just wrongheaded on the part of Madonna House. No matter how much good they are doing, they need to focus on their original mission of helping young mothers, and the homeless. Food…

Woman stabbed Sunday evening at the Town and Country Mobile Home Park

Adams County State's Attorney Jon Barnard said Turhan Bowen will be in court Tuesday morning to face formal charges related to the Sunday night stabbing of an elderly woman.

Barnard said he will file charges against  Bowen including attempted first degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery and unlawful restraint.

From the Adams County Sheriff's Office:

On August 4 approximately 5:47 PM, the Adams County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call indicating a female had been robbed and stabbed in her home.

The victim, a woman in her 80's, was transported to Blessing Hospital by ambulance with apparent stab wounds to the neck area.  At the time of this news release the victim was in stable condition. 

The Sheriff's Office developed information that the supect was Turhan Bowen. At approximately 8:40 PM the Sheriff's Office conducted a search of a residence in the 500 block of Sycamore in Quincy and located Bowen. 

Turhan Bowen, 51, was arrested for this incident. He is also a resident of the Town and Country Mobile Home Park. He is charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Robbery, Home Invasion, Residential Burglary,  Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Aggravated Unlawful Restraint and lodged in the Adams County Jail. 

Investigation continues by the Sheriff's Office.

 

 

PREVIOUS STORY

A Quincy man is in custody and faces charges following the stabbing of a woman south of Quincy.

Adams County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Town and Country Moblie Home Park on Illinois 57 around 6 p.m. They found in a home who had suffered stab wounds to the throat and neck area. She is at Blessing Hospital.

Following an investigation, the suspect was found in a residence on Sycamore Street. He was arrested and taken to the Adams County Jail.

He faces multiple possible charges including Armed Robbery, Unlawful Restraint and Assault.

Names and further details will be released later by the Sheriff's Office.
