I believe I'll wait until more facts are known before pointing fingers of guilt or declaring innocence in this case. Either one.....

My father was an over-the-road truck driver and my mom tended bar when I was a kid. You have any other smart-ass, unintelligent questions like this?

10th annual "Ploughman's Lunch"

2 years, 4 months ago by Denise Donley

Lunch will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

On Wednesday November 14, 2012 Christ Lutheran Church, 333 South 36th Street, Quincy, IL will sponsor the 10th Annual “Ploughman’s’ Lunch” from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Church.

Lunch will consist of Chili, Vegetable Soup or Chicken Noodle soup with rolls, cheese, dessert and drink for $6.00 ($3.00 for children).  Tickets may be purchased at the door and carry-outs are available.

All proceeds will benefit the YWCA and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will match the proceeds.

The custom of a Ploughman’s Lunch was originated in England and was meant as a quick, hearty meal that could be eaten at the side of the field so that work could continue.  In the mid 1950’s the tradition was revived by British Pubs as a marketing tool to increase sales.

Past Ploughman’s Lunches have raised a total of more that $14,000.00 to benefit many local organizations.
