One important factor for me is missing from this article. How many politicians/bureaucrats have served time in jail for Cook and Iroquois counties? The question is not only quantity of government but quality of government.

You mean they should just keep on footing the bill for every freaking thing? I say the taxpayer has had it! Time to put the goose that lays the golden eggs on a diet. Lets start by cutting our city council and county board in half. Next, every state employee making over $100,000 takes a 10% pay cut. That would be a good start.

Are employees allowed to have their cell phones in the building?? - if so then this is a stupid rule. I doubt the "efficiency" of our government will be impacted much by a cell phone that is turned off.

Selective editing? Please tell me that nobody in the media does that? Oh my gosh....my confidence in the media has been shaken!!! Lots of those around...numerous police videos for example where all you see is the person being taken down and not the reason for the take down.

Theft Austin Creeps reports his black Samsung cell phone taken from where he hid it outside the Adams County Courthouse on 7-16. Maybe the courthouse needs to install a bank of lockers like they have at Scotties: Go in with something you're not supposed to have, like your cell, and you can put in a quarter, lock it up, and grab it on your way out.

On Saturday, October 6th, the public is invited to a celebration for the Show Barn at Windsong Acres, near Camp Point

Due to the weather, this event has been cancelled.

On Saturday, October 6th, the public is invited to a 100th Anniversary Celebration for the Show Barn at Windsong Acres, near Camp Point Illinois.  The unique and historic barn, built by Clarence and Cora Dickhut in 1912 and renovated by Jeff & Shelly Rasche in recent years, is an Adams County landmark and is currently being considered for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.  Admission is free; donations are welcome and will help maintain the barn for the future.  Visitors may wish to bring lawn chairs.

Old-fashioned games for children will begin at 3:00 p.m.  Between 4:00-7:00 p.m., the celebration will feature music by local singers and groups, tours of both barns at Windsong Acres, photos of the barn restoration process, antique tractors, cars, and antique farm artifacts, and demonstrations by members of the Adams County Olde Tyme Association.   Food and refreshments will be available throughout the event.

All guests will have the opportunity to sign a wood plank that will be added to the barn to commemorate the 100th Anniversary Celebration, and a group photo of all who wish to pose with the barn will be taken at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Beginning at 7:00 p.m., the Silver Dollar Square Dancers from Quincy will demonstrate square dancing. Guests are invited to grab a partner and join in the fun.

Windsong Acres is located at 2121 E. 2400th Street, Camp Point, IL, which is two miles north of Camp Point and one mile east.  The barn is visible just one mile due west of Camp Point Central High School.  Detailed directions and more information is available at www.ShellyRasche.com
